Less time patching. More time getting the show ready.

Our event racks now have custom patch panels, making the connections easier to reach and the setup quicker for the crew.

Built for the way we work

Equipment preparation does not always produce the most dramatic photograph, but it makes a difference when the crew arrives at a venue. Our rack work focuses on making the setup easier to patch and quicker to get ready.

Custom patch panels bring the connections to an accessible point. That means less reaching around equipment and a more straightforward process when connecting the rack to the rest of the system.

Small details that help on show day

A consistent patch arrangement gives the crew a familiar starting point, whether the rack is being prepared in advance or connected during a busy load-in. It is easier to follow the signal path when the connections are laid out clearly.

The result is a practical improvement to the way we deliver our events: less time spent getting to the connections and more time available for the system checks that follow.

New to our hire stock: projector & screen

Recently added to our hire stock, our projector and fast-fold screen package brings flexible visuals to conferences, theatre productions and business events.

The room decides the setup

A good projection setup starts with the room. Screen position, ambient light, throw distance and audience sightlines all need to work together. A large image is only useful if people can see it clearly.

Having both front and rear projection surfaces gives us more flexibility. Where there is space behind the screen, rear projection can keep the projector out of the presentation area. In other rooms, a front projection layout is the practical choice.

Ready for presentations and live events

The projector and screen are now available to hire through Backseat Events. With front and rear projection surfaces, we can plan a layout around your venue, audience and presentation requirements. Give us a call or email to discuss availability and the right setup for your event.

The package adds another option alongside presentation screens for conferences, theatre and business events. For networking events with Marta Events, the aim is straightforward: clear visuals that help the audience follow what is happening.

We plan the screen and projector position alongside microphones and presenter locations, rather than adding visuals after the rest of the room has been arranged.

Four events. One busy day for Backseat Events.

A wedding in Stamford, Human Nature in Huntingdon and two live music shows kept the team moving across four very different jobs.

Human Nature was one of four productions on a busy day for the team.

Four briefs on the same day

In Stamford, the wedding job called for a compact DJ setup. At the Commemoration Hall in Huntingdon, Human Nature needed full production alongside our partners at Start Events.

Elsewhere, we provided audio for CoPolice at the Secret Garden in Wisbech, while the team also worked on the Stomper Promotions show at the Steel Bar in Corby.

Different jobs, the same preparation

The equipment and scale differed across the day, but every job needed a clear brief, the right kit and a crew ready for the schedule. Planning the load-ins and team arrangements is what lets separate events happen in parallel.

It was a busy day that showed the range of our work, from a small private celebration to theatre production and live music. Each event had its own technical requirements and its own audience to look after.

On the road with Mark Summers: Elvis from Memphis to Vegas

Touring sound for Mark Summers means keeping the show consistent while adapting to the theatres along the route.

From Swanage to Runcorn and Louth

Our touring audio work with Mark Summers and Elvis from Memphis to Vegas has taken us to the Mowlem in Swanage, the Brindley in Runcorn and the Riverside in Louth.

Each venue brings a different room and house PA. The job is to prepare the show, understand the venue setup and give the performance a clear, suitable sound in that space.

The room changes; the preparation continues

Connecting to the house sound system is followed by the checks and sound check needed for that theatre. The engineer works with the venue team to understand the room and the available equipment.

That preparation is a substantial part of touring audio. It helps us maintain a familiar approach for the performer while making the adjustments each venue needs.

Behind the stage at Langtoft Festival

Over 1,500 people attended Langtoft Festival across the weekend, with Backseat Events providing full event production: sound, lighting and staging.

A stage at the centre of the site

Over 1,500 people attended Langtoft Festival across the weekend. Backseat Events provided full event production throughout, bringing the sound, lighting and staging together around a trailer stage supplied by AR Events.

Outdoor production is about the whole site as well as what happens on stage. The audience area, stage position and programme need to work together, with the technical package fitted around the event.

Keeping the programme moving

With local bands taking to the stage, the crew works through setup, sound checks and the handover between performances. Coordinating those details with organisers and artists helps the programme run smoothly.

For us, full event production means joining up the equipment, suppliers and people. At Langtoft, that meant bringing the stage arrangement, sound and lighting into one workable festival setup.

Backseat Events × Start Events: working behind the shows

Our partnership with Start Events brings show promotion and technical production together, including our jointly created Human Nature production.

Two teams, a shared plan

We are proud to be a production partner for Start Events, working together on live shows across the UK. Their promotion and artist work connects with our technical delivery for the production.

A show needs both sides to join up. Audio, lighting and venue arrangements need to support the performance and fit the schedule agreed with the promoter and artist.

Human Nature, developed together

Human Nature was co-created and produced by Backseat Events and Start Events. It is a clear example of the partnership extending beyond supplying equipment to developing and delivering a show together.

The work carries on behind the scenes: advancing venue requirements, organising the production and coordinating the people involved. Getting those conversations right gives the show a solid technical foundation.

A closer look at our Allen & Heath audio setup

Our Qu-5D and SQ-5+ desks, together with sE microphones, give us flexible tools for the variety of events we work on.

A desk that fits the event

A small presentation and a live band put very different demands on an audio system. Our Allen & Heath Qu-5D and SQ-5+ desks give us options for those different jobs.

Digital control lets the engineer work through input processing, EQ, dynamics and monitor mixes from the desk. The Qu-5D also brings Dante connectivity into the setup where it is needed.

Good sound starts before the faders

The microphone and its position are the first part of the chain. Our sE microphones give us useful options for capturing sources on stage, with the final choice made around the instrument or voice.

We build the audio arrangement around the event, then check it with the people using it. The desk is one part of that system; source capture, routing and the room all play their part.

Why Sennheiser G4 travels with our events

From presenters to singers, wireless microphones give performers freedom on stage. The preparation behind them matters just as much.

Wireless microphones are used across our conference and live-show work.

Different stages, familiar tools

Our Sennheiser G4 wireless systems cover both handheld and headset microphones. Handhelds suit singers and presenters who want a microphone in their hand; headsets suit people who need both hands free.

The useful part is the flexibility across the kinds of events we deliver. A conference panel and a live music stage need different microphone arrangements, even when the wireless system behind them is familiar.

Wireless needs a plan

Frequency selection, receiver placement and checks before the event all affect how the system performs. We consider the room and the other equipment in use as part of the setup.

The microphone choice is also about the person using it. We work through placement and levels during preparation so the performer or presenter can concentrate on their part of the event.

Making every word count at Peterborough business events

For monthly business events at the Marriott in Peterborough, clear speech is the starting point for the whole audio setup.

Built around the speaker

Business events ask something different of a sound system than a concert. The audience needs to follow every point without the equipment distracting from the speaker.

For monthly events at the Marriott in Peterborough, our audio work centres on clear presentations and a practical microphone arrangement. Headset microphones let presenters move and speak naturally.

The checks that make a difference

Microphone placement, sensible levels and a check before the session starts help the room feel comfortable. The equipment needs to serve the agenda, including the handover between speakers.

It is a focused part of our corporate AV work: understand the room, prepare the microphone setup and keep the presentation easy to hear.

Nothing But A Good Time: taking the sound on tour

Touring audio takes us from Huntingdon to Peterborough, Eastleigh and Runcorn, with a different house system at every stop.

Sound engineer at the mixing desk
Touring audio means preparing for the room as well as the show.

One show, several venues

Our work with Nothing But A Good Time has taken us to the Commemoration Hall in Huntingdon, New Theatre Peterborough, the Concorde Club in Eastleigh and the Brindley in Runcorn.

The performance travels, but each room has its own sound system, stage layout and working arrangements. The technical preparation helps us connect the touring setup to what the venue provides.

A familiar desk, a fresh sound check

Taking our own touring sound desk gives us a familiar starting point. We then connect to the house PA and work through the sound check for that room.

That combination gives the engineer continuity while leaving room to adapt to the venue. Working closely with the house team is part of getting the system ready for the audience.
